Google Ads and Analytics Add AI Insights, Prompted Dashboards and Benchmarks

Google is extending Ads and Analytics with AI summaries, custom insights, natural-language dashboards and anonymized peer benchmarking.

From measurement toward action

Google announced new AI and agentic features across Google Ads and Google Analytics on August 10. AI Overviews on the Analytics homepage summarize important changes since the previous visit and can pass a selected card's context into Ask Advisor. The Ads homepage adds business-specific insight cards and a prompt box for custom questions.

New Dashboards in Google Ads can turn natural-language requests into visual reports with generated explanations. Ask Advisor in Analytics can compare campaign performance with anonymized averages from similar businesses. Footnotes say some features are currently beta for English-language accounts, while Analytics dashboards are coming later.

What marketers should verify

An AI explanation can mistake correlation for cause or equate a platform optimization target with actual business value. Before changing budget, a person should inspect raw metrics, attribution windows, comparison cohorts, conversion quality and normal statistical variation. An anonymized benchmark is directional context, not a competitor's actual strategy.

Announcement boundary

This is a Google product announcement, not independent evidence of revenue lift. Availability varies by account, language and rollout stage. Approval limits and change logs are safer than executing every recommendation automatically.
